On November 19, the boys’ varsity football team played their first CCS game at home against the Sobrato Bulldogs.

The match was a tight back and forth match, as neither team seemed to be able to pull away. The Bulldogs kicked a field goal in the first quarter to take the lead, but a touchdown by senior James Egan made the score 6-3. However, the Bulldogs answered right back with a touchdown via interception by Sobrato’s junior Isaiah Hardy. The Bulldogs lead 10-6 by the first quarter. In the second quarter junior Marcell Jackson rushed into the end zone to make the score 12- 10 Aragon. The Bull¬dogs again answered with a touchdown by senior Conor Havstad to pull ahead of Aragon, 17-12 at the half. The Aragon Dons stormed back onto the field after their brief break, looking concentrated and determined. Another touchdown by Jackson made the score 18-17, Dons. With 2:32 left in the third, the Dons defense made a goal line stand. This was the spark that the Dons needed. In the fourth quarter, se¬nior Victor Jimenez scored two unanswered touchdowns to close the game, 31-17.

On November 26, Aragon’s CCS run fell to Los Gatos 6-39, a team known for being exceptionally rough. The Dons trailed throughout the whole game. The only score came from a sixteen yard touchdown pass from sophomore Nat Blood to junior Aldo Severson during the fourth quarter.

Throughout the season, reflects Coach Steven Henderson, the team faced challenges. He says, “Sometimes we aren’t as sharp and we play against our¬selves, creating turnovers. In the two games we’ve lost, we turned the ball over eleven times. In the nine games that we’ve won, we turned the ball over six times.”
